Albert's Cafe Amici Enriches Its Menu to Reflect the Rich Diversity of Montclair

After creating three successful restaurants in the past ten years in Bergen County, under the name Café Amici, Albert Franco is poised to raise the bar for his personal accomplishments in our town, Montclair, New Jersey. His latest moves have been inspired by the kaleidoscopic ethnic diversity that defines the town of Montclair.

Albert and New Executive Chef Pierre will be enhancing the richness of the menu and dining experience with food that inspires. In view of his new restaurant offerings, he will be renaming his restaurant from Cafe Amici Montclair to Albert's Montclair.

While the eatery has always boasted meals from a diverse selection of foods, Albert is really expanding his menu beyond its rich Italian roots with the recent addition of the culinary talents of Executive Chef Patrick Pierre Jerome.

Executive Chef Patrick Pierre Jerome, known simply as Chef Pierre, has the notable distinction of graduating from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America (CIA), a leading college for the culinary arts. He has also spent time in France working for several world class chefs and restaurants. He has an exceptional background as an Executive Chef having worked for top restaurants in Northern Jersey and New York.

Chef Pierre also was a pioneer in creating buzz and renown for restaurants in Montclair with his outstanding French restaurant Yves in past years. He’ll bring his eclectic expertise in world class dining from a broad range of cultures like French, Italian, and Southern Barbeque, to offer them in a menu juxtaposed with American comfort foods.

Local Montclair Artist Bob Tynes Showcases
Affordable Fine Art at the Montclair Public Library

The Montclair Public Library announces an exhibition of Affordable Fine Art from May 15 through May 31. Bob Tynes will display a collection of digital and mixed media works on paper. The works are limited edition prints, signed and numbered.

The works are powerful, highly symbolic, inspiring, Eclectic, and full of energy. “My artistic influences include the works of Bearden, Dali, ManRay, Picasso, Chagall, and Parks.

I also enjoy the positive symbolism of Jung and Casteneda. “The works are eclectic but they all are designed to inspire – to contribute to the positive self actualization of the viewer.

Some have said thet they resemble visual poetry – with subjects including dance, jazz, And storeytelling – as in Aesop’s tales. The works on display are all approximately 24” X 36”. Meet the Jewelry Designer

Yolanda Berry has always had a creative spirit. Ms. Berry, a Montclair Business women, is a self taught artist who currently lives in Northern New Jersey.

She noticed that there was a lack of earrings in the marketplace which she liked. This was prior to the explosion of chandelier earrings in the fashion industry.

Since she could not find anything in the stores that she wanted to buy, Yolanda got the idea to design her own jewelry and ventured into an art supply store and began making her own jewelry. Check out her Jewelry Creations. See more about this Designer

Trend Coffee & Tea House Open Mic Nite

Trend Coffee & Tea House will continue to feature some of the top local talent in Northern Jersey this Thursday at their regular weekly Open Mic Nights. Some of the artists to appear in past Open Mic Nights were Guitaro, Arnet Blance Senior, Kennedy Grey, and Bernadette Malavarca and Catherine McGowan from Bern & the Brights. Charles Schultz House - Fall Tours also start at the historic home of the Charles Schultz and his family at 30 North Mountain Avenue, in Montclair, NJ. Charles Schultz was a former President of the Hoboken Bank for Savings. The 3 story Victorian house has 21 rooms and is preserved in almost mint condition thus is referred to by the term "Evergreens." This tour begins Tours begin at 1 and 2 p.m.; Tours at Orange begin at 3:30 $8 for adults and $5 for children for each property, or both for $15 adult, $5 child.
