American Idol Sensation and Monclair, NJ Resident Performs at Trend Restaurant

Trend Coffee & Tea House is continuing to rapidly emerge as the go to spot for entertainment showcasing local artists in Northern Jersey. This enviable distinction will be cemented even more this coming Thursday February, 16th, 2012 when Trend will showcase the sensational singing talents of Kennedy Grey, the American Idol hopeful and Montclair, New Jersey, resident.

Ms. Grey known for her powerful engaging voice and soulful musical style can no doubt deliver a big time performance for the Montclair crowd next week. But will the cozy eatery known for good food, gourmet coffee or teas, and attentive service, even with its recent expansion, be able to accommodate the considerable crowd expected to see Ms. Grey?

Space may be extremely limited next Thursday evening because Ms. Grey is obviously a rising star with international recognition from the American Idol TV Show. Ms. Joann Smalls, the promoter affiliated with the Wellmont Theatre, and the host for the Trend Open Mic night advises “patrons who would like to enjoy the concert of Ms. Grey to arrive at 7:30 Sharp!”

Trend’s Thursday Open Mic nights have been well attended in the past and featured local musicians, comedians, and vocal artists like Guitaro, Arnet Blance Senior, Mike Ferrara & Delaynie Cusick, and Bernadette Malavarca and Catherine McGowan from Bern & the Brights, have performed to good turnouts for the venue. If past Open Mic nights are any indication for the upcoming show Thursday - it will be a night to remember!

Meet the Jewelry Designer

Yolanda Berry has always had a creative spirit. Ms. Berry, a Montclair Business women, is a self taught artist who currently lives in Northern New Jersey.

She noticed that there was a lack of earrings in the marketplace which she liked. This was prior to the explosion of chandelier earrings in the fashion industry.

Local Montclair Artist Does Major Art Exhibits in NYC

Tours on Sundays through December. At the Israel Crane House, on 108 Orange Road in Montclair, NJ. The Crane House was occupied by the Crane family and later became the home for African American women a social center under the auspices of the YWCA of Montclair-North Essex. Check out this enlightening historic tour. Tours begin at 1 and 2 p.m.; Tours at Orange Road begin at 3:30 $8 for adults and $5 for children for each property, or both for $15 adult, $5 child.

Charles Schultz House - Fall Tours also start at the historic home of the Charles Schultz and his family at 30 North Mountain Avenue, in Montclair, NJ. Charles Schultz was a former President of the Hoboken Bank for Savings. The 3 story Victorian house has 21 rooms and is perserved in almost mint condition thus is referred to by the term "Evergreens."
